Captain Brendan Faulkner

CHIEF/BREN
Legacy. Son of Kristoff and Julienne. Brother of Arrol. Commander/Leader of the Excelsior Squadron. Brendan has eyes the color of crystal ocean water and his father’s dark brown hair. He’s charming, gentlemanly, and kind, but he is also an excellent leader. Should the situation command it, Bren can snap into that mode in a heartbeat. He doesn’t understand the competition between Arrol and him. He’s always looked up to his older brother. Due to some tragic circumstances in his life, he doesn’t allow women to pilot under him.

Alexandra Scott

BLAZE/LEXI/ALEX MARTIN
Legacy. Zephyr pilot. Excelsior Squadron. Daughter of Rachaelle and Alexander Scott. Alex has dark, mahogany hair and wide blue eyes. When Rachaelle was killed, Alexander moved Lexi, as he called her, to Paisible, a little village on Galliard. He changed their surname to Martin. Once Lexi reached an age where she could care for herself, her father committed suicide by crashing his aircraft. He had taught Lexi everything about flying, so it only seemed natural for her to join the Legacy forces. She lied about her age and entered Zenith Prep, the easiest way to get her foot in the door. She impressed Zephyr recruiters during a performance evaluation, and elevated into their ranks as a supply transport pilot. She soon was promoted, becoming the personal pilot of Rear Admiral Mark Tremplin, who became a very close friend. He sees a lot of potential in her and puts in a good word to promote her to watchdog status. Mark is executed by the Legacy, calling Alex into question for her interaction with him. At this time, she joins the Ghosts, becoming a spy within the ranks of the Excelsior Squadron. Langler is her target, but he targets hers as well.

Ghosts

Redic Clairet

Head of the Ghosts. Former Praesidium member, founder of the Ghost movement. Redic is of average height and build. He has blue eyes and shoulder-length caramel-reddish hair. He has a strong personality. Long ago, he was jovial and fun, but became hardened by the death of his family and passionate against the Legacy. He worked with Mark Tremplin.

Remy Sullivan

Lumen. Ghost. Friend and advisor to Redic Clairet. Remy is fairly tall and fit. She has soft curly red hair, usually pulled back, and green eyes. She is friendly and personable, fiercely loyal to Redic, and always focused on the mission. She was a major in the Aegis, serving under Redic Clairet. She, too, worked with Mark Tremplin. When the Legacy took over and placed Ternion’s Praesidium in the Assembly, Remy became Redic’s advisor. She now serves the Ghosts as a strategist and advisor.

Harlequin Starfire

Lumen. Ghost. Captain of Valor’s Fool. Harlequin is of average height. She is fit and strong. She has blue eyes and medium length deep red hair, an excuse for her fiery personality and temper. She is friendly and confident. She has a past with Mark Tremplin.

Legacy

Mark Tremplin

Rear Admiral. Married to Faita. Friend of Alex. Mark has brown eyes and silver hair. He’s tall and fit. He befriends Alex when she pilots his ship, spending many long flight hours in the cockpit with her. He becomes almost like a surrogate father, looking out for Alex’s interest. Rumors fly about a romantic affair between the two, although nothing has ever happened. Mark once served with Redic Clairet under Prince Ternion, but sacrificed his relationships to remain with Faita. He joined the ranks of the Legacy, but the Ghosts continue to try to persuade him to join them. Admirals Mechant and Langer keep a very close eye on him, knowing that he has many friends who oppose the Legacy.

Typhon Langler

Admiral. Commander of the flagship Glory. Langler has jet-black hair with a streak of silver and cat-like green eyes. He is a powerhouse in stature and a ruthless killer. He’s evil and has no conscience. He claims to be loyal to the Legacy, but he’s truly loyal to his own twisted urges. He harbors a deep hatred of the Logia and the Ghosts, and vows to rid the system of them. He was an Interrogator and as he moved up in rank, he found his skills useful in manipulating those around him. Langler is jealous of Mark, and sets up his
downfall. Langler then uses his powers to bring Alex on board his ship. He knows she is up to something, but has no proof. He plans to toy with her until he gets the information he seeks. Then he will destroy her.

Arrol Faulkner

Son of Kristoff and Julienne. Brother of Brendan. Arrol has brown eyes and Kris’s dark hair. He’s insanely jealous of Brendan, who has always seemed to have an easier path in life. Arrol is very competitive. He joins the ranks of the Legacy, hoping to “out-do” Brendan.

Casamir Mechant

Admiral in the ranks of the Zephyr Force. Alex serves under Mechant as a watchdog pilot. He orders a training exercise, but doesn’t tell his pilots that it’s really an offensive maneuver. Alex kills a great number of Logia without realizing it. Mechant is good friends with Langler, having served with him as an Interrogator long ago.

Excelsior Squadron

Corbitt Kelley

SMOKE/COR
Commander. Second in command, can get anyone out of any situation. Brother
of twins Burke and Ray. Kelley has sandy blonde hair and engaging green eyes. He and Bren have been friends and colleagues for a long time. He helped Bren launch the Excelsior Squadron, supplying him with three of the nine pilots—himself and his two younger twin brothers. He is three years older than the twins. Kelley has been married to Eva for four years, and after Viktor and his wife have a child, they begin to consider starting a family themselves.

Basilieus Scorpa

CHAPPY
Commander. The oldest pilot in the squadron. Basileus is respected by all,
including Brendan. He has blue eyes and white hair, when he’s not shaved his head. He flew with the Aegis, and made the transition into the Legacy when it took over the system.

Viktor Horne

TORCH/VIK
Lieutenant Commander. Extremely fast. Vik is the retiring member, causing Brendan to seek his replacement. Vik is of average height, and has dark eyes and hair with touches of gray. He is married to Cera and recently became a father.

Stiles Arion

CYPHER
Lieutenant Commander. Encryption expert. Stiles is tall and wiry. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He’s good at what he does, and mostly keeps to himself.

Burke Kelley

GRINS
Lieutenant. Twin of Ray. Brother of Corbitt. Burke shares his older brother’s light colored hair and green eyes. Burke is a jokester, earning him the nickname/call sign Grins. He and Ray always try to “out-do”each other in pranks. He and Ray are the youngest pilots in the squadron.

Ray Kelley

GIGGLES
Lieutenant. Twin of Burke. Brother of Corbitt. Ray also shares his older
brother’s light colored hair and green eyes. Like Burke, Ray is a jokester,
earning him the nickname/call sign Giggles. He and Burke always try to “out-do” each other in pranks. He and Burke are the youngest pilots in the squadron.

Lex Carey

SIZZLER
Lieutenant. Always a sure shot. Lex is one of the newer members and pals around regularly with Hank. Lex has bright red hair, blue eyes, and freckles.

Felix Whitmore

DIZZY
Lieutenant. Felix is the newest member of the squadron. He earned his call sign by performing crazy, daring stunts. He’s goodhearted, although he enjoys teasing with the Kelley boys on occasion. He has brown eyes and light brown hair.
