After a rockslide deep within an ancient mineshaft, a coma claims Zach Evans. A year later, doctors are ready to remove his life support. His only hope is a mysterious piece of technology called the Stream, although there appears to be no response.

A great distance away, Emma enters the Stream and encounters a virtual Zach. He's lost and shaken. Together, they discover clues about Zach's identity and the connection he has to Emma.

But his time is running out. Will Emma be able to find his physical location before the doctors terminate his life?
